  • I too was "blessed" to have a basset hound, although from what I remember he always looked "guilty". The really naughty one was the beagle (must run in the hound family) he could eat like a goat (anything and everything).

  • I tend to believe in the authenticity of this photo. Women worked in many "nontraditional" positions at that time (especially after 1941 when we entered the war). I know this for certain because I have had the privilege of getting to know 2 WWII FEMALE Vets (USMC) over the last several years.

  • Let's not glorify these common criminals and wanna-be cop-killers by calling them the "Dougherty gang", like they are in some old western. This is real life and they are violent criminals who happen to belong to the same dysfunctional family.

  • My thoughts exactly, I was struck by the writer's choice to use the word accident. If we were talking about two people, it wouldn't be clear whether it was an accident or not.
